A New Home for 96five, Here For Good
In 2021, the decision was made by the Board and senior management that 96five needed to find a permanent home in our city. We’ve always rented – and we’re grateful to our landlords for hosting the ministry across its history – but with development on the doorstep of our currently leased premises, and with the ministry and team growing, we need to move.
Exciting news!
Thanks to God’s incredible goodness, some savings and the generosity of a group of donors, earlier this year we purchased a property at 6 Moorak Street, Taringa.
This is a significant milestone in the history of 96five and is a culmination of decades of prayer and investment on many levels.
Moving from a temporary location into our own “home” brings stability and sustainability to the ministry’s long-term future. We can build valuable equity, establish permanency and wise stewardship of listener support. It also means greater security and control over our future and ensure that we can invest in appropriate technology, connectivity, community access and risk management strategies to the ministry.

Project Information
Why purchase?
With many parallels to residential housing, a move for 96five from a leased, temporary location into our own home brings stability and sustainability to the ministry’s long-term future. We can build valuable equity, establish permanency and wise stewardship of listener support. It also means greater security and control over our future and ensure that we can invest in appropriate technology, connectivity, community access and risk management strategies to the ministry.
What’s next?
If you watched the video above, you will have seen that Level 1 of the building is in original order and requires extensive renovation to not only bring it up to code and a habitable space, but to build new, purpose-built broadcast and production studios. This will include new wiring, connectivity, sound proofing (including glazing, airlocks and flooring), and a LIVE recording space. Thankfully the Ground Floor has undergone recent renovations and is currently tenanted.
How you can help
Your gift to this momentous project in the station’s almost 50-year history will be a part of launching 96five into the ministry that God has called it to in the future.
Where millions of people are impacted by an experience of God’s love, stories of lives saved, stories of transformation and faith built.
Would you be a part of writing the next stories that will be broadcast from the walls of 6 Moorak Street, Taringa?
If you’re unable to give at this time, would you pray? Pray for the construction process, approvals and that God would be glorified.
Keep an eye on this page for updates on our building project.
