Tearfund Australia works in places of greatest need, partnering with other locally-based Christian groups to end poverty. Together, we enable communities experiencing injustice to address poverty.

We support our partners’ projects, focusing on health, education, agriculture, clean water, humanitarian assistance and income generation. We also support advocacy for systemic change.

We have a commitment to serve Jesus where the need is greatest, so priority is given to those programs that strive to involve the most marginalised and exploited members of each community.

We connect the global and local Church in God’s work of transforming, renewing and restoring all of creation. Around Australia, Tearfund is working alongside the local church inspiring Christians to make biblically shaped responses to poverty and injustice. We equip them to give, learn, live, act and pray for a more just and compassionate world.

For decades, we have championed for more and better aid, calling on our government to act fairly toward our global neighbours. Together we’ve driven conversations about faith and consumerism, and we’ve cried out for action on climate change.
