MoB Makers: Drawing the Body
Back by popular demand, join us in one of our monthly Drawing the Body events.
Expect body builders, burlesque performers and acrobats in our popular MoB Makers: Drawing the Body series. This life drawing series with a twist sees athletes and performers of all shapes and sizes pose and share their stories as inspiration for sketching. Facilitated by artist and designer Leigh Buchanan, this monthly event will give you an insight into the diverse physical and creative pursuits of Brisbane’s sports and performance communities, all while sharpening your drawing skills.

MoB Makers: Drawing the Body Easton Pearson Edition
Our popular Drawing the Body series gets an Easton Pearson makeover for The Designers’ Guide: Easton Pearson Archive.
Facilitator Leigh Buchanan will draw on his own background as a fashion designer, including his time with Easton Pearson, to help you hone your fashion illustration skills.
The models are Brisbane women showcasing their favourite Easton Pearson outﬁts and telling the stories that transform their garments from cloth into vessels for memories and creative inspiration.

Most of us struggle to edit our wardrobes, so how do you select 200 garments from an archive of more than 3,300 designer pieces?
Discover how the Museum’s Curatorial and Collections team worked with Pamela Easton and Lydia Pearson to create the ﬁrst exhibition from the Easton Pearson Archive.

What the World Needs Now…A concert celebrating 2018
Upbeat Arts Queensland (formerly the School of Hard Knocks) will present their fifth annual Brisbane concert at The Edge, State Library of Queensland at 7pm on Friday 14 December 2018.
Upbeat Arts Patron Mark Holden, will be appearing on the program as our very special guest artist. Also performing is Brisbane’s ladies only choir, ‘Musica’.
Expect to be moved. Expect to be inspired.
The concert will feature inspiring performances by each of the School’s Brisbane arts programs (choir, music theatre, junk percussion and creative writing) and is presented in partnership with the State Library of Queensland.

The QAGOMA Design Market is the place to find a wide variety of high-quality handmade objects and gifts – ceramics, jewellery, homewares, paper products and more!
Most stallholders will have EFT facilities, but some may not, so bring cash with you just in case. Don’t forget to visit the QAGOMA Store for a huge range of books, art merchandise and designer gifts.
