Red Ride

A scenic ride with a purpose.

Now more than ever, it is important to encourage communities and individuals to speak out against violence and abuse.

What we saw in 2020 is people feeling isolated, children disconnected, families thrown into uncertainty, businesses folding, and unemployment drastically rise. With domestic violence already effecting our communities, risk factors like this saw an increase to the impact of the safety and wellbeing of children and families.

Within our communities, we all have a responsibility to shine a light on abuse, violence and controlling behaviours – to not normalise it or put it down to stress.

Out of this, the idea of “Red Ride” was started and Rotary Caboolture and MBRIT were fast to jump on board.

What has been created is an opportunity for the Moreton Bay and wider community to stand up and say domestic violence is not welcome here. If you are experiencing domestic violence you are not alone and each one of us here are going to play our part to make sure our families feel safe.

On the first weekend in May we will see Moreton Bay’s scenic roads play host to thousands of bikes dressed in red to send an important message and raise much needed money.

This is an event that has brought together Government, local groups, social support agencies, the business community and individuals for a common purpose.

Join with us on this day to play your part.
