World Suicide Prevention Day Walk Redlands Coast

The Redlands Coast Suicide Prevention Network, in conjunction with StandBy Brisbane – Support after Suicide and McCartney Family Funerals, are hosting this year’s World Suicide Prevention Day Walk at the Raby Bay Foreshore from 10:00am – 2:00pm.

The theme of this year’s World Suicide Prevention Day is “Working Together to Prevent Suicide”, with as many suicide prevention awareness-raising activities as possible being held around this time.

This event will include a commemoration service with lived experiences, a walk of reflection, entertainment by local artist Lamees, stalls to raise awareness and support suicide prevention, and of course there will be food available to nourish everyone after the reflection walk.

In the fight against suicide, it takes a village to help reduce the stigma and isolation associated with losing a loved one to suicide, and this event is a way to show community connectedness and support to those who have felt the impact and effect of suicide first hand.

Come take a walk with us and reflect upon the impacts of suicide.
