This November, 2x GRAMMY Award Winner and multi-platinum selling artist Lauren Daigle will bring her The Kaleidoscope Nights Tour, to Australia and New Zealand.

Lauren Daigle’s breakthrough came with the release of her debut album, How Can It Be, in 2015 but it was her 2018 album, Look Up Child, that catapulted her to greater heights earning her two Grammy Awards and the chart topper, ‘You Say’.

The album’s success solidified her status as a prominent figure in both the Christian and mainstream music scene.

The Kaleidoscope Tour first began in September 2023, following the release of Daigle’s Grammy Nominated self-titled album. Due to popular demand and sold-out performances across the US, the tour has been extended through 2024 including dates in Europe and a mid year amphitheater run dubbed The Kaleidoscope Nights Tour.

96five’s Ken and Nicky caught up with Lauren Daigle to hear about the upcoming tour and teach her some Aussie lingo.

“Brisbane was one of my favorites,” Lauren said of her last tour in Australia almost 5 years ago.

“The last time I was there, it was like this river… with a bunch of eateries off of it. It was so good. I had some really good food, and it was very relaxing.”

Despite learning about the presence of sharks in the Brisbane River, Lauren fondly remembers the city’s vibrant art scene and welcoming atmosphere.

“My counselor told me, Lauren, there’s only one person on this planet who is made to be famous. And that was Jesus… It takes the pressure off – Lauren Daigle.”

Lauren’s journey hasn’t been without its difficulties including dealing with the pressure of being a recognised artist.

“I come from a small town and I love really simple things” Lauren said.

“When you start to realize, okay, my world is a little bit, not my own anymore. People know me, even if I don’t know them, that gets to be a little daunting.

“My counselor told me, Lauren, there’s only one person on this planet who is made to be famous. And that was Jesus.

“Something about the freedom of knowing, okay, on a hard day when I don’t get it right… He is the one who was made to be famous. And so it takes a lot of pressure off.”

Since Lauren Daigle will be visiting Australia during Movember, the month where Aussies grow moutstaches to help raise funds and awareness for men’s mental health issues, Ken and Nicky tried to teach Lauren some Aussie slang she could use.

Lauren hilariously tries to guess whether upper lip echidna, fuzzy wuzzy lip or bro merang are aussie slang words for moustache or not.
