Nutritionist David Young knows all about the importance of beginning that health journey, and more importantly, making health your priority so that you can live life to the fullest.
You see – David’s been there; for over a decade he worked in management roles for Australia’s largest confectionary company. He found himself stressed, overweight and fuelling his day with sugar and caffeine, in an effort to boost his energy levels.
He’s now sharing the wisdom he’s learnt from over a decade of self-improvement in the new 96five podcast Kingdom Health.
“This podcast has come from my own personal health journey over the last fifteen years,” David said. “When I really became passionate about long term optimal health, not just about quick fixes or fad diets, but actually looking at long term health, that’s when I really got serious about wanting to help people.”
“I love helping busy people, especially parents and professionals. As a parent myself I know the challenges of having a family and the energy that it takes to give it your best as a parent.”
“For professionals, not having the greatest health doesn’t just affect your work life and career, it impacts all areas of your life.”
What David discovered as he worked through his health journey was that fad diets and gruelling gym sessions just didn’t cut it; often because these approaches often focus on just one health goal at a time. What he found was that dieting without considering mindset, or workouts without considering nutrition were often bound to fail.
Fast forward a few years, and David is now a nationally recognised nutritionist and the founder of Young Health, helping busy parents, families and professionals transform their health.
David is also the host of 96five’s new podcast Kingdom Health which will explore seven key strategies, each serving as a building block on the path to reclaiming long-term health.
He’ll also uncover the wisdom that Scripture holds about health, emphasising the importance of nourishing your body with real, wholesome food.
“The Kingdom Health podcast is a way for me to give back to the community, and I’m really hoping that everyone who listens will benefit by revolutionising their perspective on long term health.”
The series also includes four bonus episodes that will look at family meal prep, reducing and managing stress, the importance of skin health and a spotlight on one mum’s success story.
Guests include Chef Jan Cranitch from Food With Style, wellness coach Claudia Poi from Continued Wellness and Charmayne Randall from Beauty Within Reach.
You can find out more about David’s approach to health and nutrition at the Young Health website, or you can follow David on Facebook or Instagram.
