Although doubt and disappointment are common experiences in the Christian journey, they are rarely discussed.
Whether it’s the moral failures of spiritual leaders, the increasing political and divisive nature of religion or observing a world full of suffering with a God who seems to allow it.
You don’t have to look too far, whether within or to our friends and family, and you’ll find disappointment and disillusionment and even those who have walked away from their faith.
So, what do we do with our doubt? What if instead of walking away, the questions and the stories of tragedy could take us closer to God? What if they even led to a fuller life?
That’s what 96five’s new podcast, The Deep End, seeks to explore.
Hosted by Dan Sweetman, Pastor at Lifepoint Church Rothwell, The Deep End will explore everyday stories and look at the idea that doubt and deconstruction of faith can lead to a more fulfilling life.
“The Deep End is for those who know that life doesn’t always go to plan” Dan said.
“I think you’ll find it super encouraging to hear raw and honest stories of faith as we discover how to live an authentic and deep life.”
Each episode will feature honest conversations with leaders, professors and musicians who have had the hardest things in life thrown at them but have emerged with a deeper and fuller life.
These are the raw stories of deep faith that you don’t often hear on a Sunday morning.
Episodes are available now on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or you can find it wherever you listen to podcasts. You can also listen via the 96five Podcast Page or listen in the embedded player above.
