“Great Food, No Drama” Manu Dishes on ‘My Kitchen Rules’

My Kitchen Rules is back on our screens and returning judge Manu Feildel is joined by international cooking queen Nigella Lawson.

It might be State VS State but Manu Feildel says it’s the food that ultimately wins on My Kitchen Rules.

It’s back to basics for the next season of My Kitchen Rules, back on our screens after two years.

96five’s Ken and Nicky caught up with Manu Feildel to chat about the new season.

“It’s all about instant restaurants. It’s all about real people, real food” Manu said.

Manu has been hosting the hit show for 12 years won’t be alone at the head of the table. This season he’ll be joined by iconic food writer and cook, Nigella Lawson.

“Firstly I didn’t believe it” Manu said when asked what he first heard about the possibility of working with Nigella.

“Then when it happened I was very excited. She’s a wonderful woman.”

Queen of the kitchen, Nigella, is thrilled to have the chance to champion home cooks and be warmly welcomed into their homes.

A lot has changed for Manu since he first started hosting My Kitchen Rules.

“It’s like a completely different life. I’m a completely different person” Manu said.

“I remember when I was offered to judge MKR… I was a train wreck.”

“I was stressing out so hard. It was very difficult. Scripts, cameras and all of that. It was full on. 15 years later, it’s just a job and I really enjoy it”.

Manu said people can expect “great food and no drama” this season.

Also joining the show is award-winning food journalist and TV personality Matt Preston.  Celebrity chefs Colin Fassnidge and Curtis Stone also return as guest judges.

The brand-new season of My Kitchen Rules premiering 7.00pm Sunday, 7 August on Channel 7 and 7plus.
