The iconic Heeler family home from hit Australian kids’ show, Bluey, is being listed on Airbnb in Brisbane, Queensland, offering one lucky family the opportunity to live like the Heelers for the ultimate Bluey fan weekend.

Appropriately, the for real life Heeler house can be found in the part of Brisbane that Bluey so often shows off to the world.  The house is situated in Paddington, just on the border of neighbouring suburb Red Hill, with views of the CBD and across to Mt Coot-tha.  It’s an iconic part of town, with it’s steep hills lined with the timber and tin of the Queenslanders just like where Bluey calls home.

Airbnb has partnered with BBC Studios, co-commissioner and global distributor of Bluey, on this one-of-a-kind experience.

The house has been entirely customised to bring the cartoon experience to life, featuring quirky details Bluey fans will recognise from the Heeler family home in the show.

Sam Moor from Ludo Studio is the producer of Bluey and said that the whole Bluey team is over the moon with how the house has turned out.

“Around two years ago Airbnb and the BBC came up with the idea and we were absolutely on board with it.  It’s a dream come true for Ludo and all the animators that work on the show – to see it come to life like this, it’s wonderful.”

Susan Wheeldon is the Country Manager for Airbnb Australia and New Zealand said that the Heeler house was designed to be a once in a lifetime experience.

“This is part of our global ‘Only on Airbnb’ program, so when we were looking at doing the first one for Australia, we wanted something that was quintessentially Australian but that also resonated globally.

“Having two young children at home Bluey was the absolute standout!  The show has been an amazing export to over 60 countries worldwide and is something that is beloved by children, parents and grandparents alike – it was a no-brainer for us.”

Susan said that everything that had gone into the house has been custom made for the project.

“We’ve had an amazing team working on this; we’ve worked with landscapers, set designers, local craft people who’ve created the watermelon rug from scratch and the iconic bay window out the front of the house.

“There’s no doubt that anyone walking past or walking in would say, yes, this is Bluey’s house.”

The house will be available for one family to book for a unique Bluey-themed weekend getaway which will also include an exclusive tour of Ludo Studio where Bluey is brought to life, a Chinese takeaway in the backyard complete with spring rolls, an afternoon decorating the infamous Duck Cake and a puppet making session featuring Bob Bilby.
