After 37 years, Australian television soap opera Neighbours has come to a close.
Australia’s longest running drama centred around people who live in and around the fictional Ramsay Street in Melbourne. Pin Oak Court, in Vermont South, is the real cul-de-sac that has doubled for Ramsay Street since 1985.
The finale marks the end of adventures on the fictional Ramsay Street however the legacy of Neighbours lives on.
This week we met Kylie Gilbert, real life resident of Ramsay Street in Brisbane.

Kylie from Ramsay Street in Kedron
While chatting to 96five’s Jess Drummond, Kylie said she gets along with her neighbours but they haven’t yet become ‘good friends’ referencing the now iconic theme song.
While her street in Kedron is home to a couple of quirky characters, Kylie told Ken and Nicky from Brissy Brekky that it’s a pretty normal Brisbane street to live on.
Kylie isn’t a regular Neighbours viewer but tuned in this week to mark the end of an era.

Neighbours was known for it’s drama and somewhat outrageous storylines as well giving a lot of Australian artists their ‘start’ in the industry including Kylie Minogue, Delta Goodrem, Margot Robbie, Guy Pearce and many more.
A double episode finale aired this week featuring Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan reprising their roles as Charlene and Scott Robinson. Kylie and Jason were joined by a host of other stars who came back to ‘Erinsborough’ to celebrate the end of 37 years of Neighbours.
