‘Mumisms’ – That one thing your Mum ALWAYS used to say!

“If all your friends jumped off a cliff would you?”
“Money doesn’t grow on trees!”
“If I’ve told you once, I’ve told you a thousand times…”

“Mumisms”. Every Mum has them. Whether it’s a phrase that’s been passed down through the generations or just a phrase that’s been repeated so many times it’s become a catchphrase in your house. Everybody has those little phrases that become a reminder of their childhood or a mantra of their years as a parent.

Here at 96five, we decided that with Mother’s Day coming up, what better time would there be to celebrate and reflect on the mumisms of our own lives! We asked around the 96five office to find out what peoples were and to share them with you!

“Don’t make a fuss over me!” – John

“STOP EATING!” – Andrew

“If you think that hurt wait till your father gets home” – Fabian

“If I come in there and find it they’ll be hell to pay”- Josh

“Did you have a girl look or a boy look?” – Akiwa

“Put your shoes on!” – Nicky

“See you in the morning!” “Hoot hoot!” – Karina

Maybe you’ve heard a few of these (maybe you’ve even used a few yourself). Whatever the case on behalf of the team have a great Mother’s Day and make sure to celebrate it with the special woman in your life. (or just sit back and relax)
