6 Quick Questions about RUBY SLIPPERZ

What is your Radio Career Background?
Started in radio (4GR) in Toowoomba in 1996 as the U Beaut Ute Chick – got to wear all the funny costumes from Daffy Duck to Princess Leah. One day I was invited to a meeting with the PD who asked if I would like to do Breakfast Radio. I left 4GR in December 2003 and went into Local Government in 2004 as the top polling Councillor. In 2009 I went back to radio in Ipswich with River 949 and was co host of the Breakfast Show for 4 ½ years.

Who makes up your Family?
My husband, John, Harry (16 year old son), Maddy (10 years old), Sam the Dog (5) and Choo Choo the Cockatiel (2).

How do you fill in your weekends?
Our weekends are usually focused on friends and family, catching up, having meals together, meeting at café’s – supporting our children in their chosen interests (Harry is a mad crazy drummer and musician) and Maddy just crazy!! Sunday is always worship time at our church – The Toowoomba Salvation Army Corp. We are all part of the worship band. John on guitar, Myself on vocals, Harry on Drums.

What can we expect on your show?
Ruby on 96.5 is all about community, making people smile and making sure our listeners are encouraged – most importantly it’s about being their show – I’m just the host of the party.

Are you a Cat person or a Dog person?
Dog person……cats are too crafty for me!!!!

Any other comments things to add?
Have been an entertainer for just over 35 years. Everything from singing/acting/dancing/writing. My family is part of the Salvation Army Corp in Toowoomba and absolutely love the activities we are involved in at the Corp. Worship band, youth ministry, depression support. I am also a team member of the South West Queensland Rural Hub Ministry for the Salvation army.
