It’s been a tough season for Aina, caring full time for her Mum who has spent the last few months in hospital.
With finances tight and her Mum’s 90th birthday approaching, Aina reached out during the Brissy Brekky segment ‘Hashtag Happy’ to see if there was a way to get some balloons and flowers to her Mum in hospital.
96five’s Ken and Nicky put the call out and the 96five community rallied with listeners offering to help with flowers and balloons and so much more.
Aina also received a beautiful candle, pampering voucher and a photography session to help capture some memories with her Mum. With increased cost of living and covering her Mum’s medical bills, finances have been tough so a generous listener also contributed $200 to help cover costs and relieve some pressure.
Aina was blown away when the 96five team arrived on her doorstep, knowing she can now celebrate this significant milestone with her Mum.
“Wow, I didn’t expect any of this. There’s some lovely people out there”.
