A Brave Life is a Brisbane charity that equips & empowers vulnerable mothers facing a broad range of challenges such as domestic violence, poverty, trauma, relationship or family breakdown, unplanned pregnancy and homelessness.
You can help make a difference in the lives of these mothers this Christmas through 96five’s annual Heart of Christmas drive by collecting summer onesies for A Brave Life.
A Brave Life creates pathways out of poverty and helplessness for vulnerable women who have often experienced many difficulties throughout childhood, adolescence and early adulthood, including teenage pregnancy. They do this through workshops, support groups and their Baby Bundle Program which ensure vulnerable mums arrive at the hospital with all the immediate essentials needed such as nappies, wipes, baby wash and newborn clothing.
A Brave Life was started by Mel Redsell who is passionate about encouraging women to see their purpose beyond their past and current circumstances. This passion stems from her own experience growing up in a home with domestic violence and finding out she was pregnant at the age of 16.
A new need has arisen, and A Brave Life are extending their reach and opening their Baby Bundle program to support all vulnerable mothers across Queensland, with a special focus this year on rural and remote areas, where there is a need for summer onesies in the hotter climates.
