96five relies on the support of listeners like you to continue. We’re licensed as a community station which means and there’s restrictions on the amount of on-air time we can allocate to business sponsorship (5mins an hour), so our on-air appeals, specifically the EOFY Appeal is an important event for the station. Thank you for showing up and being generous – we couldn’t do it without you.

“About 15 years ago I was diagnosed with complex PTSD from childhood. It came about because I was starting to have flashbacks and memories and bad dreams and I really struggled. I do struggle – there’s nights where I don’t sleep and you guys are amazing.
There’s always a smile, something that can make me laugh, there’s something that makes me realise just how grateful and how thankful I have to be. That’s what we need in our life, we need the positivity. The way you guys always just seem to be there at the right moment. I just love listening to you, I couldn’t do it without you.” – Naomi
“Five years ago, we lost our youngest son very tragically, very sudden. We had poured love into our son but unfortunately there were demons that he was dealing with. It just blew a big hole in us; you could see right through us.
But what comes out of the speakers is not just necessarily music, it’s love, faith and hope and I could tell you what happens on this radio station is all of that backroom stuff that can really fill those bits in life that have caused this real vacuum. 96five is one consistent message, love, faith and hope.” – John

I have suffered with mental illnesses for a quite a number of years of my life. I have to fight through lots of yuck stuff to try and breathe every day and I wake up in the morning and I turn you on the radio and you are my breath. You are my lifeline.
